Checklist for monitoring a trial
This checklist has been contributed by Barbara Farrell who prepared it
for the second version of the Trial Managers Guide.
- Set realistic objectives and review regularly
- Use computer systems to monitor recruitment
- Be aware of regular hospital staff changes
- Change initiatives regularly – monitor their impact on recruitment
and don’t repeat things that did not work
- Be open minded – keep it exciting – this will maintain interest
- Keep up to date in your particular field
- Know the people to know! - network
- Plan ahead, be obsessive
